HB7 Summary

• Amends Section 8-32-2 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to define "road hazard" as a hazard encountered while driving a motor vehicle, including potholes, rocks, wood debris, metal parts, glass, plastic, curbs, or composite scraps.

• Expands service contract coverage to include repair or replacement of tires or wheels damaged from contact with a road hazard.

• Adds coverage for removal of dents, dings, or creases using paintless dent removal without affecting existing paint or vehicle body panels.

• Includes service contract coverage for windshield repair or replacement from road hazard damage that is primary to motor vehicle insurance policy coverage.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
