HB 83 Summary

• Allows licensed table wine manufacturers to obtain a permit to operate one additional off-site tasting room in addition to their on-site tasting room.

• Off-site tasting room applicants must file a written application with the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, provide proof of local governing authority approval, and pay a $50 filing fee.

• All state and federal laws and regulations applicable to on-site tasting rooms apply to off-site tasting rooms, including conduct of tastings and retail sales of the manufacturer's table wine.

• Amends Sections 28-3A-6 and 28-7-18 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to authorize the off-site tasting room permit system.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
