Recognizes the HIV is Not a Crime II National Training Institute, a three-day workshop held May 17-20, 2016, at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

Conference focuses on state advocacy, grassroots organizing, criminalization reform messaging, and legal, medical, media, and public health issues related to HIV.

Thrive Alabama (formerly the AIDS Action Coalition), formed in 1988, hosts the conference and provides medical services, case management, and social services across 12 north Alabama counties.

Three educational tracks include Effective and Accountable Leadership, Rights/Policy/Justice, and Campaign Planning/Strategy/Messaging to provide participants resources for state-level advocacy strategies.

Welcomes participants from across the country to Huntsville and recognizes the training academy's mission to unite advocates and allies on repealing laws that criminalize people living with HIV.
