Commends the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District for issuing the first regional general permit (ALG10-2011) in the United States for living shorelines to incentivize their greater adoption.

Recognizes that living shorelines reduce erosion while maintaining land-water connections that sustain aquatic habitats, support seafood production, and benefit Alabama's hospitality, tourism, fishing, and hunting industries.

Notes that no current nationwide permit exists for living shorelines, and developers often align projects with general permit specifications to avoid time and expense of individual permit applications.

Urges the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to issue a new nationwide permit for living shorelines in accordance with permits ALG10-2011 and ALG11-2011 during subsequent reissuances of nationwide permits.

Directs that a copy of the resolution be provided to each member of the Alabama Congressional Delegation.
