Recognizes Officer Joey Brown of the Orange Beach Police Department as the recipient of the 2016 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement, the state's highest law enforcement award for extraordinary courage in the line of duty.

On June 20, 2015, Officer Brown rescued six individuals from a 24-foot vessel stranded on the Perdido Pass jetty wall after it struck a submerged jetty amid extremely rough seas, strong currents, and shallow water that prevented other rescue assets from reaching the vessel.

Officer Brown boarded a personal water craft at great personal risk and extracted the passengers from the stranded vessel one at a time over several trips, placing his own life in jeopardy to save others.

Directs that Officer Brown receive a copy of the resolution as evidence of the legislature's admiration and esteem for his demonstrated courage, diligence, and commitment to protect and serve the residents of Orange Beach.
