J.H. Sullins is honored and commended by the Alabama Legislature on his 90th birthday celebration held February 26, 2016.

Born February 26, 1926, in Marion County, Alabama, Mr. Sullins worked in Mobile shipyards during World War II and formed a country band with other Marion County natives.

Mr. Sullins became a Baptist preacher in 1972 and pastored several churches before working as Maintenance Supervisor at North West Alabama Community College from 1978 until his retirement in 1989.

Mr. Sullins remains an active member of the Clifty Creek Bluegrass Band and continues to play fiddle and engage in buck dancing.

The House adopted the resolution on April 13, 2016, and the Senate adopted it on April 20, 2016.
