• Recognizes February 17, 2016, as Digital Learning Day in the State of Alabama.

• Digital Learning Day is sponsored by the Alliance for Excellent Education through the Center for Digital Learning and Policy to highlight innovative teaching practices and instructional technology programs.

• The resolution promotes the use of modern digital tools in K-12 public schools to improve student learning experiences and outcomes.

• Act 2015-547 established the Digital Learning Commission to focus on effective and sustainable technology-supported learning in pre-K-12 classrooms with recommendations on infrastructure, devices, content, professional learning, and funding.

• House adopted the resolution on February 11, 2016, and Senate adopted it on February 16, 2016.
