Commends Corporal Joshua Troop Himes of the Mobile Police Department as a nominee for the 2016 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement, the state's highest law enforcement award for extraordinary courage in the line of duty.

On July 20, 2015, Corporal Himes was the first responder to a shooting accident involving a head injury to a 3-year-old child and promptly transported the mother and child to the hospital for emergency care.

After the child underwent multiple surgeries and remained on life support, Corporal Himes regularly visited the child and family at the hospital, demonstrating commitment that contributed to the child's miraculous recovery.

The resolution recognizes Corporal Himes' clearheaded judgment, quick response, courage, diligence, and unwavering commitment to protect and serve Mobile residents through his life-saving actions.

Directs that Corporal Himes receive a copy of the resolution as evidence of legislative admiration and esteem; adopted by the House on April 20, 2016 and the Senate on April 27, 2016.
