Requests elected officials refrain from soliciting or accepting campaign funding and legal defense funding during any legislative session in Alabama during 2016.

References existing law (Section 17-5-7(b)(2), Code of Alabama 1975) that already prohibits candidates for legislative and statewide office from accepting campaign contributions while the Legislature is in session, from the opening day through adjournment sine die.

Expresses the Legislature's position that legal defense funding should also be prohibited during legislative sessions, as this prohibition is not explicitly stated in current law.
