• Recognizes the 24th Annual Delta Day at the Alabama State Capitol on Thursday, February 18, 2016, and commends Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

• Acknowledges that Delta Sigma Theta was founded on January 13, 1913, by 22 collegiate women at Howard University and now has more than 250,000 members in over 1,000 chapters throughout the United States and abroad.

• Highlights the sorority's national Five Point Program covering Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement.

• Honors Delta Sigma Theta members who have served in the Alabama Legislature and recognizes notable members including former U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Regina Benjamin and Dr. Gwendolyn E. Boyd, 22nd National President and current President of Alabama State University.

• Presents the resolution to Cheryl W. Turner, Southern Regional Director, in recognition of the sorority's significant contributions to educational, civic, and social advancement.
