• Acknowledges Dr. Bell's accomplishments in securing proper housing for rare museum objects, garnering national and international media attention during the 60th Anniversary of the Montgomery Bus Boycott, and accepting donations of rare African American magazines from the 1950s and 1960s.

• Honors her expertise in African American heritage preservation, including her 2007 expert testimony before the U.S. House Committee on House Administration about enslaved and free black craftsmen who constructed the U.S. Capitol, which contributed to naming the Capitol Visitor Center's great hall "Emancipation Hall."
