Honors Scotty Kennedy for his significant civic contributions to Red Bay on the occasion of the Red Bay Garden Club's Annual Arbor Day Celebration.

A red oak tree will be planted in honor of Scotty Kennedy on March 9, 2016.

Kennedy has served on the Red Bay Tree Commission and Bay Tree Council for the Performing Arts, appearing in over 30 productions, directing 9 productions, and serving on boards for the Red Bay Educational Foundation, Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, and Dr. Walker Dempsey Foundation for Red Bay Hospital.

Kennedy is a 1977 graduate of Northwest Alabama State Junior College and 1980 graduate of The University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Design; he owns Scotty Kennedy Photography and a custom frame shop, winning several state-level awards in portrait and wedding photography.

Kennedy has contributed to numerous community projects including the Red Bay History Book, Tammy Wynette Benefit concerts, the Red Bay Museum, the Smithsonian Museum traveling exhibit, and Red Bay's Centennial Celebration as a Civitan Club member and past president.
