• Commends NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center for 56 years of contributions to rocket propulsion technology, lunar missions, and development of advanced space systems for the International Space Station and deep-space expeditions to Mars.

• Recognizes the Center's economic impact of approximately 22,000 jobs in Alabama and more than $96 million in annual state and local tax revenues while serving as a technology magnet for the region.

• Acknowledges the Center's leadership in developing NASA's Space Launch System (SLS) for taking humans and science missions beyond lower Earth's orbit toward Mars, supporting tens of thousands of jobs across multiple industries.

• Recognizes the Center's ongoing work on the Hubble Space Telescope, Chandra X-ray Observatory, and International Space Station, as well as support for the National STEM initiative to educate future scientists and engineers.

• Directs that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Center Director Todd May in recognition of the Marshall Space Flight Center's scientists, engineers, technicians, management, and support personnel.
