Commends Dr. Gerry F. Ellis for outstanding professional achievement upon his retirement from General Obstetrics and Gynecology in Decatur, Alabama, on March 11, 2016.

Dr. Ellis earned his B.A. from Florida State University in 1970 and his M.D. from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 1975, completing his residency at Shands Teaching Hospital and receiving certification from the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology Board in November 1981.

Dr. Ellis began his distinguished career in General Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1979 and has delivered more than 6,000 babies throughout his career.

His professional affiliations have included the American Medical Association, the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the State of Alabama Medical Society, and the Morgan County Medical Society.

A retirement reception was held in his honor at Decatur Morgan Hospital on March 10, 2016, recognizing his tireless dedication and exceptional abilities that have positively impacted countless lives.
