Honors Second Baptist Church of Fort Payne, Alabama on its 100th anniversary.

Church was founded in spring 1913 in an oak grove near W.B. Davis Hosiery Mill and formally organized in 1916, originally known as The Pleasant Grove Church and later the Mill Church.

Church relocated to corner of 11th St. N.W. and Grand Avenue in March 1937 at a cost of $400, burned down June 12, 1958, rebuilt by December 7, 1958, and suffered heavy fire damage again on March 13, 1968 before remodeling was completed by September 9, 1969.

Two other Baptist churches, Allen Memorial Baptist Church and Minvale Baptist Church, began as missions of Second Baptist Church.

House of Representatives commends Second Baptist Church and its pastor and congregation for their community service, Christian influence, and charitable work throughout their history.
