The senior political advisor avoided required public financial disclosures and ethics law compliance through an entity structure, demonstrating corrupt motives and circumvention of state ethics laws.

Governor Bentley removed the Secretary of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and directed terminations of other employees alleging misuse of funds, though an audit revealed no discrepancies and the former Secretary stated his termination was based on discovering the relationship and cooperating with the Attorney General.
