Commends Charles Gardner, Principal of Hokes Bluff Elementary School, for being named the Alabama National Distinguished Elementary Principal by the National Association of Elementary Principals.

Gardner received the award in a surprise ceremony on March 11, 2016, announced by Etowah County Schools Superintendent Alan Cosby and will attend a national recognition ceremony in Washington, D.C., in October.

Gardner is a native of Hokes Bluff in his ninth year as principal of Hokes Bluff Elementary and has served 20 years total as a school administrator.

Gardner and his wife Staci Gramling Gardner have three children and serve as youth directors at Bellevue United Methodist Church for 11 years.

The House of Representatives extends sincere gratitude for Gardner's service and dedication to his students, pupils, parents, and the community.
