Recognizes Deputy Jeff Bert of the Autauga County Sheriff's Department as a nominee for the 2016 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement, the state's highest law enforcement award for extraordinary courage in the line of duty.

On August 13, 2015, Deputy Bert and Sergeant Steve Adams responded to an infant in distress at a residence on County Road 85 and found the child unresponsive and not breathing.

Deputy Bert administered infant back blows causing the infant to expel water while Sergeant Adams performed chest compressions; Prattville Fire Medic then took over care and the officers managed traffic control for the infant's safe evacuation by Life Flight.

The quick thinking and heroic actions of Deputy Bert and Sergeant Adams saved the infant's life and protected others during the emergency response and medical evacuation.

Directs that Deputy Jeff Bert receive a copy of this resolution as evidence of the House's admiration and esteem.
