Mary Frances Ludgood Garner died on January 4, 2016, at age 81 and was a faithful member of Mt. Shady A.M.E. Zion Church serving as church secretary and deaconess.

She worked for Vanity Fair as a seamstress for 30 years and was married to Eugene Garner, Jr., for 58 years until his death on February 8, 2011.

She is survived by three children, ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, five sisters, one brother, and numerous extended family members and friends.

The House of Representatives of the Alabama Legislature records her death with deep sadness and celebrates her life as a valued community member.
