Acknowledges that Yom HaShoah was instituted in Israel in 1951 as a day of commemoration for the six million Jews who perished in the Holocaust.

Notes the Alabama Holocaust Commission was established by legislation in 1999 to foster understanding and promote education about the Holocaust, with a policy that Holocaust education is the proper concern of all peoples.

Honors the memory of lives lost in the Holocaust and recognizes the Yom HaShoah Commemoration as an occasion to enhance public awareness of the consequences and significance of the Holocaust.
