• Honors and mourns the death of Dr. Gregory T. Graves, a lifelong educator and public education advocate in Alabama.

• Dr. Graves earned Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Elementary Education from Auburn University at Montgomery and a juris doctor degree from the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law.

• Served as teacher at South Highlands Middle School in Bullock County, assistant principal and acting principal at the Wallace School for incarcerated juveniles, Legal Advisor to the Alabama Education Association in 2005, and Associate Executive Secretary beginning in 2012.

• Was a member of Phi Delta Kappa Legal Fraternity, Sigma Pi Phi, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, and recently served as Secretary of the Alabama Democratic Party.

• Survived by his wife Tara Outsey Graves and daughter Tai Jewel Graves.
