Recognizes February 17, 2016, as Digital Learning Day in the State of Alabama.

Digital Learning Day is sponsored by the Alliance for Excellent Education through the Center for Digital Learning and Policy to highlight innovative teaching practices and technology programs that improve student outcomes.

Encourages administrators, teachers, librarians, media specialists, principals, parents, and community members from public, private, charter, and home school settings to share digital learning experiences.

References Act 2015-547 (2015 Second Special Session), which was approved and signed by the Governor on September 21, 2015, establishing the Digital Learning Commission to focus on technology-supported learning in pre-K-12 classrooms.

The Digital Learning Commission is charged with making policy and funding recommendations in the areas of infrastructure, devices, content, professional learning, and funding.
