Posthumously honors Walter Liston "Sonny" Corcoran, Sr., on his selection for the Alabama Agriculture Pioneer Award.

Corcoran was born June 7, 1932, in Eufaula, Alabama, graduated from Eufaula High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree from Auburn University in 1954.

Operated Corcoran Farms (diversified row-crop and livestock enterprise) and Backyard Orchards (fruit and vegetable operation with educational programs for kindergarten through college students).

Served as a pioneer of the Boll Weevil Eradication Program and held leadership positions with Southern Cotton Growers, Cotton Incorporated, Alabama Peanut Producers Association, Alabama Cattlemen's Association, and Barbour County Commission.

Directs that a copy of the resolution be presented to his family in tribute to his memory; Corcoran passed away in February 2005 and is survived by his wife, two sons, two daughters, 11 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
