Sarah L. Drake is honored and commended on her 70th birthday celebration on February 26, 1946.

Mrs. Drake earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education, a Master's Degree in Special Education, and a Certificate in Psychometrics from Alabama A and M University.

She taught special needs students in the Decatur City School System and served as Coordinator of Tutorial Services for Learning Disabled Students from 1976 to 1993 at Alabama A and M University.

Mrs. Drake served as School Administrator at First Missionary Baptist Church Child Development Center and Academy for 14 years and has served as Program Director of the After School and Summer Enrichment Program at Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Church since 2009.

She has maintained affiliations with the Council for Exceptional Children, National Education Association, and Alabama Education Association, and has faithfully served First Missionary Baptist Church for over 45 years.
