• Commends the outstanding students who received 2016 Wiregrass Black History Student Honors based on scholastic achievement, school performance, and community service.

• The 7th Annual Wiregrass Black History Student Honors Award Program will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016, at the Dothan High School Auditorium, where student honorees will receive award certificates from state representatives.

• Honors 59 distinguished student honorees from the Wiregrass area, including Ahmia Artis, Charles Asuzu, Shiyawna Bilbo-Pittman, Jamale Blake, and 55 others listed in the resolution.

• Recognizes that the 2016 honorees demonstrate admirable qualities such as hard work, diligence, and a sense of community.

• Directs that a copy of the resolution be presented to each honored student in recognition of their success.
