Recognizes the HIV is Not a Crime II National Training Institute, a three-day workshop and conference scheduled for May 17-20, 2016, at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

Conference will address state advocacy, grassroots organizing, criminalization reform messaging, and legal, medical, media, and public health issues related to HIV.

Thrive Alabama (formerly the AIDS Action Coalition), formed in 1988 to address the HIV/AIDS epidemic and serving 12 north Alabama counties, will host the conference in Huntsville.

Three educational tracks will be offered: Effective and Accountable Leadership, Rights Policy and Justice, and Campaign Planning Strategy and Messaging to support state-level advocacy strategies.

Alabama House of Representatives welcomes participants from across the country to attend the training academy in Huntsville.
