Recognizes the HIV is Not a Crime II National Training Institute, a three-day conference held May 17-20, 2016, at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

Conference covers state advocacy, grassroots organizing, criminalization reform messaging, and legal, medical, media, and public health issues related to HIV.

Attendees include advocates living with HIV, community organizers, activists, and experts in public health, law, and public policy from across the country.

Thrive Alabama (formerly AIDS Action Coalition), established in 1988, hosts the conference and provides medical services and case management across 12 north Alabama counties.

Three educational tracks address Effective and Accountable Leadership, Rights Policy and Justice, and Campaign Planning Strategy and Messaging to support state-level reform strategies.
