SB142 Summary

• Changes the name of the "Impaired Drivers Trust Fund" to the "Alabama Head and Spinal Cord Injury Trust Fund" throughout Alabama Code sections 16-38A-1, 16-38A-2, 16-38A-4, 32-5A-191, and 32-5A-191.2.

• Updates all references to the advisory board and fund distribution to reflect the new name while maintaining the fund's original purpose of supporting citizens with head and spinal cord injuries.

• Continues fines collected from DUI convictions to be deposited into the renamed trust fund to support care, rehabilitation, prevention education, and research for head and spinal cord injury survivors.

• Becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
