Amends Section 9-11-235 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to prohibit nighttime hunting of protected birds and animals unless authorized by rule of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

Defines "nighttime hours" as 30 minutes after sunset through 30 minutes before sunrise of the following day, as recorded by the United States Naval Observatory.

Removes specific provisions allowing raccoon and opossum hunting during nighttime hours, consolidating all nighttime hunting under Department discretion via regulation.

Maintains exception allowing nighttime fox hunting with dogs and existing penalties of $2,000-$3,000 fine and up to six months jail time for violations, plus three-year revocation of hunting licenses.

Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and Governor approval.
