Amends Alabama Code Sections 36-21-102 and 36-30-1 to include rescue squad members who are members of the Alabama Association of Rescue Squads within the definition of "firefighters"

Extends free college tuition benefits at Alabama state colleges, community colleges, junior colleges, and technical colleges to surviving beneficiaries of rescue squad members killed or totally disabled in the line of duty

Extends workers' compensation benefits to surviving beneficiaries of rescue squad members killed in the line of duty, with compensation distributed to dependents, non-dependent children, parents, or the deceased's estate

Applies to dependent children under 21 years of age and unmarried spouses who have not remarried, with initial college enrollment required within five years of death or total disability

Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor
