SB204 - Alabama Child Care Provider Inclusion Act

• Prohibits the state from refusing to license, renewing licenses, or taking adverse actions against child care service providers based on their decline to provide services that conflict with their sincerely held religious beliefs.

• Defines "adverse action" to include refusing to enter into or renew a contract, canceling a contract, taking enforcement action, refusing to issue or renew a license, or canceling a license.

• Ensures that if a provider declines to provide, facilitate, or refer a child welfare service, that decision cannot limit another provider's ability to offer those same services.

• Authorizes providers injured by violations to obtain declaratory relief, injunctive relief, damages, and reasonable attorneys' fees and costs.

• Becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
