SB223 Summary

• Provides a 4 percent salary increase for certificated K-12 public school employees beginning fiscal year 2016-2017, with increases applied by experience step on the State Minimum Salary Schedule.

• Grants a 4 percent pay increase to education support personnel (K-12), including adult bus drivers and part-time employees, with separate salary schedules established for each job classification.

• Extends 4 percent salary increases to employees at the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind, Department of Youth Services School District, Alabama School of Fine Arts, and Alabama School of Mathematics and Science for fiscal year 2016-2017.

• Requires the Board of Trustees of the Community College System to revise all two-year postsecondary institution salary schedules to reflect a 4 percent increase for 2016-2017, with increases given in addition to step increases.
