• Permits individuals currently entitled to participate in a supernumerary program to continue participation under existing terms and conditions.

• Allows the current sheriff holding office at ratification to purchase service credit in the Employees' Retirement System for prior service, provided the official foregoes supernumerary office assumption.

• Election on the proposed amendment shall proceed under Amendment 555 to the Alabama Constitution of 1901 and state election laws.
