• Continues the existence and functioning of the Alabama Department of Insurance until October 1, 2020, pursuant to the Alabama Sunset Law.
• Preserves Section 27-2-1 and Title 27 of the Code of Alabama 1975, which created and govern the Department of Insurance.
• Implements the Sunset Committee's recommendation for continuance of the Department of Insurance.
• Becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
