SB416 Summary

• Amends Alabama Code Section 13A-7-1 to define what constitutes "posting in a conspicuous manner" for trespass law purposes.

• Expands the definition to include placement of identifying purple paint marks on trees or posts on property, in addition to posted signs.

• Purple paint marks must meet specific requirements: vertical lines at least 8 inches long and 1 inch wide, positioned 3-5 feet from ground, and spaced no more than 100 feet apart on forest land or 1,000 feet apart on other land.

• Excludes the bill from Amendment 621 constitutional requirements regarding local expenditures because it defines or amends an existing crime.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and Governor approval.
