State Board of Education shall develop a model evaluation system for assessing the effectiveness of classroom teachers and teachers serving as principals or assistant principals in public K-12 schools.

State Board of Education shall develop a model tenure system for granting and denying tenure to teachers, assistant principals, and principals based on fair and impartial considerations and due process.

Board must submit a detailed summary of both the model evaluation system and model tenure system to the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, Speaker of the House, and chairs of the House Education Policy Committee and Senate Education and Youth Affairs Committee on or before the fifth legislative day of the 2017 Regular Session.

Act becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor or upon otherwise becoming law.
