• Commends Madison Haney of Killen, Alabama, for receiving a Top 2016 Prudential Spirit of Community Award, presented by Prudential Financial and the National Association of Secondary School Principals.

• Madison, a senior at Florence High School, discovered that many students lacked sufficient food and organized a backpack collection initiative to fill with food for at-risk students.

• Her efforts benefitted more than 300 at-risk children in the area through a weekend food program at a local foundation serving at-risk youth.

• As a recipient of this national award, Madison receives $1,000, an engraved silver medallion, and a four-day trip to Washington, D.C., as one of the top two honorees from Alabama.
