Commends Amerie Gramelspacher, a Thomasville High School senior, for receiving a 2016 Prudential Spirit of Community Award as a Distinguished Finalist.

Recognizes her volunteer work on a suicide awareness project in partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, including organizing a 5K run, teacher training presentations, and installing hotline signage at her school.

Notes that the 5K race raised $1,600 to purchase a suicide prevention curriculum now being taught quarterly at her school.

Acknowledges that Gramelspacher, having lost an aunt to suicide, transformed her personal loss into service for others through peer leadership and community engagement.
