• Commends NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center for 56 years of contributions to rocket propulsion technology, lunar landings, and development of advanced space systems for astronauts and deep-space missions to Mars.

• Recognizes the Center's economic impact of approximately 22,000 jobs in Alabama and more than $96 million in annual state and local tax revenues.

• Acknowledges the Center's leadership in developing NASA's Space Launch System (SLS) for human missions beyond Earth's orbit and its work on major projects including the Hubble Space Telescope, Chandra X-ray Observatory, and International Space Station.

• Recognizes the Center's support of the National STEM initiative to educate and inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, and explorers.

• Directs that a copy of the resolution be forwarded to Center Director Todd May in recognition of the Center's scientists, engineers, technicians, and support personnel.
