AL HB2

Authorizes the Baldwin County Sheriff to establish procedures for making limited purchases using credit or debit cards issued to the Sheriff's Office.

Requires the sheriff to promulgate written policies including monetary limits on individual and monthly purchases, restricted card access, accurate record-keeping, monthly bill review, and timely full payment to avoid fees.

Mandates the sheriff consider annual fees, rewards or rebates, interest rates, service charges, finance charges, late fees, and termination penalties when selecting card providers.

Requires any rewards or rebates earned from card use to be deposited into the Sheriff's Discretionary Fund of Baldwin County.

Act becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
