A municipal judge or magistrate in the City of Fairfield, Jefferson County may assess a defendant a $100 warrant recall fee to recall a failure to appear warrant issued for violations of city municipal ordinances.

The defendant must pay the $100 warrant recall fee at the time the warrant is recalled.

The City of Fairfield is not required to recall any warrant, and all decisions to recall warrants are made solely at the discretion of the municipal judge or magistrate.

All warrant recall fee revenues collected by Fairfield Municipal Court shall be deposited into the City of Fairfield Corrections Fund and allocated in accordance with Alabama Code Section 11-47-7.1.

The act becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor, or upon otherwise becoming law.
