HB174 Summary

• Eliminates the requirement that the Department of Public Health publish and mail a printed directory of licensed hospitals to licensed inpatient hospitals, licensed hospices, and certified home health agencies every three months.

• Maintains the Department of Public Health's obligation to keep an electronic directory of all licensed hospitals available on the Internet in a searchable database format.

• Requires the electronic directory to display licensure status for licensed hospitals for the preceding four years and the current year.

• Amends Section 22-21-33, Code of Alabama 1975, regarding hospital licensing and operations.

• Takes effect on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
