Reclassifies Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency employees hired after January 1, 2015, who are certified by the Alabama Peace Officers' Standards and Training Commission as state policemen eligible to participate in the State Employees' Retirement System as Tier II state policeman members.

Automatically converts employees classified as law enforcement officers beginning January 1, 2015, to state policeman classification upon the effective date of the act.

Allows affected employees to elect conversion of prior service credit earned as law enforcement officers to state policeman service for the period from January 1, 2015, to the effective date by paying the difference in employee contributions plus interest calculated by the State Employees' Retirement System.

Becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
