HB429 Summary

• Amends Section 40-23-5 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to add the National Federation of the Blind (NFB) of Alabama as a tax-exempt organization.

• Exempts NFB of Alabama from payment of state, county, and municipal sales and use taxes.

• Adds NFB of Alabama to the existing list of organizations already granted sales and use tax exemptions, including the Diabetes Trust Fund, American Legion, Veterans organizations, Goodwill Industries, and others.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
