• Applies only to Etowah County and authorizes separate elections in municipalities and unincorporated areas to determine if alcoholic beverages may be sold on Sundays.

• Municipal governing bodies may call elections by resolution, with ballot question asking voters to approve Sunday sales by properly licensed retailers; election held at least 30 days after resolution with notice published three weeks in advance.

• If majority votes "Yes," Sunday sales are permitted under Alcoholic Beverage Control Board licenses and municipal ordinance regulations; if "No," sales prohibited except by subsequent election, with no election allowed within 12 months of prior vote.

• County commission may similarly call elections for unincorporated areas using the same procedures, with county judge of probate providing notice and county commission enacting any regulatory ordinances.

• Act is cumulative and supplemental to existing municipal and county powers, does not repeal existing authority, and becomes effective immediately upon passage and gubernatorial approval.
