Municipal judges or magistrates in Fultondale, Jefferson County, may assess defendants a warrant recall fee to recall failure to appear warrants for municipal ordinance violations.

The warrant recall fee shall not exceed $100 and must be paid by the defendant at the time the warrant is recalled.

Warrant recall is discretionary and the city is not required to recall any issued warrant; all recall orders are solely at the judge's or magistrate's discretion.

All fees collected for warrant recalls shall be deposited into the City of Fultondale Corrections Fund and allocated in accordance with Section 11-47-7.1 of the Code of Alabama 1975.

The act becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor or upon otherwise becoming law.
