Franklin County is commended on the occasion of its bicentennial celebration marking 200 years since establishment by the Alabama Territorial Legislature in February 1818.

Celebration begins February 6, 2018 with unveiling of a Franklin County Historical Marker at the Franklin County Archives Building in Russellville, Alabama.

Pioneer Days Festival scheduled for May 12, 2018 at Sloss Lake in Russellville featuring live history demonstrations.

Franklin County named after Benjamin Franklin and home to major industries including Tiffin Motorhomes, Sunshine Mills, Pilgrim's Pride, and Gates Rubber with a 2000 census population of 31,704 residents.

Resolution expresses admiration for the county's thriving businesses, quality schools, fertile lands, natural attractions, and recreational facilities.
