Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was founded January 13, 1913, by 22 collegiate women at Howard University and has grown to over 250,000 members in more than 1,000 chapters.

The Talladega County Alumnae Chapter was chartered on May 10, 1977, by 21 women who received approval from the 16th National President Thelma Thomas Daley.

The chapter has served the community through programs including Physical Fun Day, Warm Blessings (blanket project for nursing home residents), Voter Registration, Teen Summit, American Heart Association's "Go Red for Women," World Aids Day, and annual scholarship presentations.

The Alabama Legislature expresses congratulations and appreciation to members of the Talladega County Alumnae Chapter for 40 years of service to the community based on their values of Sisterhood, Scholarship, and Service.
