Alabama's energy industry generates a total economic impact of $14.22 billion and provides $385 million in annual tax revenue.

Energy sector encompasses electricity production, natural gas, coal mining, biomass, solar, nuclear, wind, hydroelectric, petroleum, and other energy sources, generating 124,000 jobs statewide.

Alabama ranks third nationally as a coal exporting seaport, fifth in biomass electricity generation, sixth in overall electricity generation, and eighth in renewable energy generation.

Legislature commits to promoting reliable, affordable, and clean energy to grow Alabama's economy, create high-paying jobs, and support the energy industry.
