Recognizes Senior Trooper Richard Daryl Bosarge, Jr., of the Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency as a nominee for the 2017 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement, the state's highest law enforcement award for extraordinary courage in the line of duty.

On February 6, 2016, Trooper Bosarge assisted a motorist on Interstate 10 in Mobile County and observed a wrecked vehicle; he crossed four lanes of traffic, broke the locked vehicle's window with his baton, removed an unresponsive driver, and rendered first aid.

The injured 76-year-old driver had suffered a seizure and stroke; hospital staff credited Trooper Bosarge's swift and accurate first aid application with saving the man's life.

Trooper Bosarge has made split-second decisions that saved the lives of four individuals and demonstrated immense courage, diligence, and commitment to protecting Alabama residents.

House adopted the resolution on April 20, 2017, and the Senate adopted it on April 27, 2017; directs that Trooper Bosarge receive a copy of the resolution as evidence of the legislature's admiration and esteem.
